Public Session Locations
Every Stranger Session happens in a public, well-lit outdoor location — never a private residence or studio.
Photographer Verification
Every host completes an identity and business verification before earning the Official Stranger Sessions Photographer badge.
Clear Participant Boundaries
You set your comfort level for hand holding, hugging, sitting close and posing before you ever meet your Stranger.
No Required Physical Contact
Physical contact is never assumed. You can decline any pose or interaction at any time, no explanation required.
Ability to Stop Participation
You can pause or end your participation at any point during a session.
Reporting & Emergency Procedures
Every session has a clear reporting process, and hosts are trained on emergency procedures for public outdoor settings.
Age Requirements
All participants must be 18 years or older to register for a Stranger Session.
Conduct Expectations
Photographers are expected to keep sessions in public view, respect every participant's stated boundaries, and stop immediately if a participant asks to pause. Participants are expected to treat their Stranger and photographer with respect and to communicate honestly about their comfort level throughout the session.
